Postdoctoral Position at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center

A postdoctoral position is immediately available to be a member of a team working on understanding the biological role of O-fucose and O-glucose modifications on cysteine-rich domains including Epidermal Growth Factor-like (EGF) repeats, Thrombospondin Type 1 Repeats (TSRs), and Elastin Microfibril Interface (EMI) domains. This project is supported by grants from the National Institute of Health. They will use in vivo, cell-based, and in vitro experiments to determine biological roles of these modifications on substrate proteins.

The successful candidate will have a recent PhD in biochemistry or related field. Experience with mass spectral glycoproteomic site mapping of O-linked modifications on proteins, mammalian tissue culture, expression and purification of proteins using mammalian tissue culture, experience with in vitro glycosyltransferase assays, basic molecular biological, biochemical, and cell biological methods is perferred. Experience with mice is a plus.
